  • 10/10/08 - SCI 2008 Student National Conference

Drift was selected for performance Oct.10-11 at Ball State University for SCI's 2008 Student National Conference. I performed it as well.  It was a great experience to see and hear other composers from around the nation.

  • 07/25/08 - Buenos Aires Collaboration

I collaborated this July with composer Jamie Reveles in Buenos Aires Argentina to create Manifestación for 3 percussionists, prerecorded sound, and interactive video.  It is based on the political rallies that were going on there at the time.

I am now a member of MusMap and CompositionToday.

Michelle and I meet at Florida International University last January and she liked the range of my songs so much that she decided to perform them again on her recital.  She will, like me, graduate this spring.  I really could not have asked for a better soprano!  Daniel Manoiu also helped me tremendously as a pianist who could play anything!

  •  03/20/08 - SCI All Composers Concert at USF
Drift was selected to be performed at an all composers concert in USF in Tampa Florida.  Unfortunately, I was unable to perform it due to a conflict of schedule.

  •  03/01/08 - CHASM Festival

Here are some pictures from the CHASM festival held at Florida State University.  Drift was performed by myself on viola and Jeffrey Jean-Francois on laptop.  Richard Zarou did a great job organizing the event.

  • 03/08/08 Masters Graduate Composition Recital  FIU

I recently held my masters composition recital at Florida International University.  I thought it when very well.  All the performers took their time in playing the pieces, and a very good recording was the result which is always good.  Here is the third song from a piece entitled Two Poems and a Prayer sung by Michelle Gonzalez, soprano and Daniel Manoiu, piano.  The poetry is from the 20th century poet Edna St. Vincent Millay, Sonnet XVIII (1923)

Florida Electro-Acoustic Student Festival

This year under the direction of composer Paula Matthusen and Erick DeLuca, FIU put on a fantastic electro-Acoustic festival.  Drift was chosen and performed again.  A compilation CD will be available soon.  Read more here. Many thanks to all that helped put on a great show.
